[1] Training

“Just on time. My name is Victor Valentine. I run this training center. The lovely woman over there is Victoria, my wife and the head of Hero’s developmental department. No need to introduce yourselves, everyone knows who you are. I hope you’ve settled in comfortably in the accommodations you’ve been provided. Roy, on the other hand, isn’t doing all that great. Our medical team are doing their best. Thing is, the sites from that other time are much more dangerous than expected. We’ve since had all those areas in the city on lockdown.”

Victoria chimed in, “It’s a shock you four weren’t affected the way Roy was. The unnatural power from the old age…legend has it, it’s related to the demons that once walked these lands. And you all seem to have this…residual effect from it.”

Victor spoke again, “We’re going to need you to get back into top fighting shape. The nightmare came true and demons have entered this time period. Thankfully, not in large numbers…yet. Time is of the essence right now. We have to begin.”

Victoria pointed to a door in the back. “In that room you’ll find training gears.” She pointed to another. “And that room is where the weapons are.”

“Don’t take too long.” Victor said. “Again, time is of the essence and honestly…it’s frightening.”

Arc woke up and blinked around as the two were talking...she felt she was dreaming and at first didn't know what they were saying, but the moment they mentioned the demons she took whatever they were saying very seriously.

She saw her friends around her, sans Roy. She pushed herself off who was holding her and fellon the floor with a comedic thud.

She gets up and brushes herself off hoping no one noticed and just tries to get with the program, following her friends.

Ty frowned, worried about his friend. Shrugging it off, he went to the room with the weapons, grabbing a strange looking gauntlet from a shelf. A man inside the room began explaining how it worked.
"Rather intuitive, aren't you? That weapon was designed for you, based off of your beast-like fighting we've heard about. Since you don't have demon juices flowing in you any more, this gauntlet will inject you with drugs. These drugs will let you "Beast out" for a time. It also has shock powers, and can fire lasers. Those have a limited charge, so be careful."
Thanking the man, Ty put it on, walking back out.

Phen looked alarmed as Arc seemed to fall on the floor seemingly out of nowhere, sighing as she picked herself up. "Didn't get enough sleep? ...Just say if it you need help."

He made his way to the room after Ty, picking up a mechanical device that seemed somewhat familiar to a crossbow, there was a label at its handle. "A 'bowgun'? ...how does this work?" He didn't see where an arrow could be aligned in it or any strings. As he examined, the same man that spoke to Ty now turned to him. [i]"From what the reports said, you were the one that could still use magic. Araphen, am I correct? This gun uses energy fuels instead of ammunition, firing a narrow beam of plasma, or ice." He presented what seemed like two attachable batteries. "It depends of which you use. This is but a prototype, so there might be some failures, and other batteries might be developed." He examined Araphen as he spoke, pausing for a moment. "Magic isn't so common as it was in your time, the R&D don't have much data on it, but perhaps... you could use it instead of fuels if need be."

MM went into the weapons room and looked amongst all the weapons. He went over to the area with several bows and picked up a few. He felt their weights, looked over their designs. Someone started to talk to MM, but he was lost in his mind. I'll stick to the one I have. He thought to himself. He then said it out loud, and the person who was talking to him furrowed his eyebrows.

"You sure?"

"Call me sentimental, or old fashioned, I plan on using this one till it breaks." With that, he simply restocked on some arrows, and left the weaponry.

As Phen said that Arc flashed an awkward smile. I can't believe I got here last...AGAIN.

Still, serious business was serious business. So she quickly composed herself and assessed the situation. With all of them here she knew it could only mean something big...again. And battles to be fought.

So she watched as everyone got their weapons. She eyed what she could from where she stood and took quiet steps to the doorway at pace with the others just took get a good look at everything first.

Her eyes honed in on all the light-looking dual-blades, but something else strange caught her attention on the wall. Twin weapons, surely, but they hardly looked like blades of any kind, though shaped like it. More like wire, with a strange coil wrapped around it, but as she ran her fingers along it, she could tell they were sharp, and very sturdy.

"Interesting, of course you would focus on the familiar, but I'm surprised you took to the less conventional forms. These are of the traditional pair-weapon forms, but with an added kick of being made of resonating coils. That is to say they are charged with each other, when one blade hits, the other charges, when they strike together they have a greater force. The more they charge the farther they reach, or the harder they hit, or perhaps you'd like to use it as a whip? Well it's still very experimental but it's stable enough. You'll have to figure out the rest for yourself."

“Alright, now, pair off into two teams. One team to the left, the other to the right. You should know where I’m going with this.” Victor smirked.

MM went ahead and walked towards the left.

Arc glances at Phen and nods in his direction, and Phen nods back. She walks to Phen's side.

"Left or right, babe?" Arc whispers, and someone snickers. Arc glances off wondering who laughed. "Right." Phen says after a pause, and she nods. She takes his hand they head off to the right.

Ty followed the traditional pattern, going with MM to left.

"Begin."

"...So it's a really a skirmish? Oh dear." Phen raised his bowgun with haste, already intending to find out its full power. "Well, have to make the most of it." Using the energy fuel already installed. Phen aimed the hi-tech crossbow at MM.
It's only fair I go for the ranged one. With this thought, he pulled the trigger, and an energy beam followed.

Ty slams a button on his gauntlet, a set of needles injecting the beast-drugs into his bloodstream. Pupils dilating, Ty felt his strength increase, and his inhibitions lower. Roaring, he dashed at Phen, fists leading the way.

"Phen!" Arc calls. She wields her weapons on either side and can feel the energy resonate through her. She lashes them at Ty's direction and fine line of light--assumingly the wire?--charges at him

MM felt a scratch across his arm as he avoided the arrow. He immediately notched one of his own arrows into his bow and returned fire at Araphen. He attempted to aim for a shoulder.

"Well, that's a good indicator I shouldn't go for the offensive." With a hand in his left shoulder, Phen tried to call some of his healing magic back, it wasn't very effective.

Ty feels an intense jolt slash across his back as the wire carves a chunk of flesh away. Snarling, he turns to face his attacker, his instincts telling him to rip to shreds. His Human mind retains control however, and he turns back to Phen.

Bloodthirster activate!

Snarling, he slams a button on the side of his gauntlet, a series of tiny needles extending from all across his gauntlet. Delivering a heavy punch to Phen, the needles drain a small amount of blood, converting it into a healing substance, and injecting it into Ty.
